You'll build meaningful relationships with parents and help provide an exceptional educational experience and a nurturing environment for all children. Responsibilities: Manage Business Operations:Provide management assistance and assures overall Center objectives are achieved.Maintain financial awareness and responsibility, and track expenses per fiscal year budget.Produce billing statements and collect & receipt tuition payments.Responsible for ordering materials and supplies.Ensure Center is compliant with all DCFS regulations/guidelines.Provide Center tours to prospective parents and guide them through the application process.Collaborate with marketing to increase community awareness of the Center and increase enrollments.Responsible for daily food service: preparing and coordinating lunch menus and ordering food for meals and snacks.Develops and maintains enrollment files, records, statistical data and prepares reports as needed.Responsible for creating and maintaining Monthly Parent Newsletter and manage daily teacher/parent communications.ngage in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices/trends in early childhood education.Ensure a member of the management team is available to greet parents during peak hours (6:30-9:00AM and 4:00 - 6:30PM).Assist with NAEYC accreditation process.Perform other duties as assigned by Director. Staffing:Promote teamwork by creating a positive and rewarding culture where staff want to come to work each day.Ensures appropriate staffing coverage per DCFS guidelines.Ensure staff complete required trainings and maintain credentials.Conduct New Employee Orientation and assist with onboarding. Youth Development & Curriculum:Execute a developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to meet the needs of all children.Plans summer enrichment, onsite field trips, plans annual graduation event, schedules Hearing & Vision screening, and schedules school pictures.Conduct regular observation of classrooms monitor curriculum and teacher performance. Risk Management:Responsible for the safety and well-being of all children enrolled in the Center.Responsible for oversight of safety practice goals. Supervisory Responsibility:Staff:Lead Teachers, Teacher AidesFunctional: Ensures DCFS licensure. Requirements: Minimum Education:Associate degree in Child Development, or Early Childhood Education, or the equivalent ( defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education AND 1) a Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential -OR- 3 Points of Credential approved training in administration, leadership or management) required.Bachelor's Degree or higher higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, and classwork in administration, leadership, or management preferred.Must be 21 years of age.Must have 1,200 hours of work experience as Assistant Director or Director Minimum
Experience:2-3 years of experience managing childcare center operations with a proven track record maintaining a balanced budget, positive enrollments, and meeting educational goals required.3-5 years progressively responsible experience leading childcare center operations and experience with fiscal management, enrollment growth and retention, program management, community relationship building, facility & grounds oversight preferred. Experience implementing NAEYC accreditation process a plus.Managerial
Experience:Previous leadership/supervisory experience in a childcare center is mandatory. Must have 1,200 hours of work experience as Assistant Director or Director Licensure/Certifications:Food Service Certification, Current CPR/First Aid Certification, Member of Gateways to Opportunity required. Computer Skills:Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.Expertise managing operations database to measure center metrics, conduct billing, and monitor attendance/center growth preferred.Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions. Skills/Competencies:Robust knowledge in Early Childhood Education.Experience maintaining DCFS licensing regulations.Experience with the Illinois Department of Human Services Childcare Assistance Program.Microsoft Office proficiency required.Candidates must pass required background checks.Provide dynamic leadership and be a good listener.Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures.Ability to communicate verbally.Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.Ability to communicate with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.Ability to deal calmly and courteously with parents and staff.Manage occasional stressful situations and maintain composure.Ability to function independently and manage own time and work tasks.Ability to work as an effective team member.Ability to organize workflow.Ability to maintain recordkeeping and follow standard operating procedures. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
